When I was younger I wasn't allowed to take Play-Doh away from the table, for obvious reasons. Though it was the worst rule ever as a kid, it all makes sense now. Particularly because everywhere you turn in 2018 there's another child playing with slime and when it gets anywhere near something valuable, panic ensues.

Although you can hope your rule to keep the slime in the kitchen will be enough to stop your child from wreaking havoc, children love breaking rules. Should you find yourself with fumes coming out your ears as your child swears "it was an accident" and you frantically try to clean up the slime from your carpet or furniture, don't panic. Getting Slime Out Of Your Carpet:

Start by removing the excess slime, whether wet or dry. Maeve Richmond of the blog Maeve's Method told TODAY that from there, warm water and vinegar will become your BFFs. "Use a soft bristled brush to gently loosen slime out from each individual carpet fiber, then blot with a clean, dry towel to absorb the liquid. Repeat this process several times, using a clean bucket of diluted vinegar-water as your base. Once clean, allow the spot to dry, then vacuum."

Removing Slime From Your Furniture:

Richmond also suggests that if slime gets on your furniture, you should blot any stains on the upholstery with a clean, slightly damp cloth (using distilled water.) When you do so, pull the fabric away from the furniture so that stains don't seep deeper, she recommends.

Jill Holtz of My Kids Time also believes it is helpful to apply rubbing alcohol with a spoon to help lift the bits of slime from upholstered furniture like your couch. After doing so, dab with a towel to absorb the alcohol and help lift the excess bits of slime. Repeat until clean.

Cleaning Slime Off The Wall:

For wall slime accidents, Life Hack Media recommends a series of steps. Begin by removing any excess slime—wet slime should come off easily, but dry slime could take a bit of work. To remove dry slime, gently scrape it off with a spoon or butter knife. Key word = gently. You don't want to remove any paint. Then, mix baking soda and water with a small amount of vinegar to create a thick paste. After coating the area on the wall with the paste (and covering the floor beneath with something protective), let it dry. Finally, use a paper towel to take the paste off the wall.
